Euphoric Corcaigh

Euphoric Corcaigh is a piece about my mental and emotional state while going for a run in Cork, Ireland (Corcaigh). While I was on my exchange in Cork, there were many times where I would go for a run along the River Lee to de-stress and reground myself. There were many instances where I felt the weight of being on my own- far away from my friends and family- combined with the stress of school, having to look out for myself in terms of health and finance, as well as dealing with student immigration. At times, it became extremely overwhelming and difficult to cope with.
When I would go for a run, however, I would be able to slowly let go of the tension in my mind and body. It gave me a chance to breathe and take in the scenery. There were many times where I would get into this euphoric state after a run, while sitting on a park bench overlooking the buildings along the River Lee. I could forget for a while my problems and take in the beautiful scenery. This piece is about that feeling of slowly letting go and living in the moment; seeing the beauty of what is around you and letting the outside in.

"The Killing of a Sacred Duck" Theatrical Play Original Score

Co-Composed by Kasey Pocius

The Killing of A Sacred Duck is an exploration of what it’s like to be a young woman growing up in a world in which sex is so often tied to violence. It is an exploration of the grey zones of our sexual experiences, and an inquiry into the sacredness of a child’s body.

In this audience interactive production the audience will make choices along the way.
